am I crazy for thinking this is a good idea?

Since I made the big decision to move into business mentorship for mothers who coach,

I've also decided I want to be even more transparent about how I'm running my business.

Is it because becoming a mother has made me give even less f*cks about what people think?

Partly.

But it's also a strategic business choice.

And one thing I know many nutrition and fitness coaches struggle with is strategy.

I was one of those coaches.

For a loooooong time my strategy was 'post on Instagram and try to get people to sign up for coaching'.

It was f*cking frustrating, not to mention horribly unpredictable.

Launching programs felt a little more predictable....

at least I knew when I was going to be stressing myself out for a couple new signups 🫠

I got sick of the emotional rollercoaster, so I paid $2000/mo for a business coach to essentially tell me and 12 other coaches on her 'hot seat' calls to follow her strategy.

Her strategy wasn't my vibe, but I did finally 'get' how strategy worked.

(and decided I never wanted to be the mentor making people wait for 2 hours on a call just to chat with me for 5 minutes)

Now I'm a mom, I DO NOT have the time to waste just posting on Instagram to 'get something out there'.

If I'm going to post on social media, there is a reason for it and an intention behind it.

I don't want other coaches (moms or not) to continue to just post on social media and hope ideal clients slide into their DMs.

So my strategic business choice of showing you my decisions?

Hopefully it helps you learn a bit more about strategy.

But transparently,

I know it's going to differentiate me from other business mentors out there that talk in smoke and mirrors and word salads.

I also know it's going to help my ideal clients see I can help them define a strategy that's right for their business in this season of life.

I know it's going to result in more conversations and help me connect more deeply with other moms who coach who feel like they're just winging it.

And guess what?

One of my strategic goals right now is not 'just get more signups'....

It's start more conversations.

So am I crazy for sharing my business decisions on social media?

I don't think so.

Do you?

I am honestly so sick of talking about baby sleep so we're not going to do that today ok? (but for the record, I'm exhausted) As silly as it sounds, what's saved me most in the last almost year of motherhood was shifting my mindset around sleep and exhaustion. I used to be very much an 'I need 8 hours of sleep or I am useless' type person. The mindset shift I started practicing as soon as our little dude was pulled into this world (I had a forceps birth) was... 'I can do things even when I'm...

Business coaches on IG will not shut up about sales plans, strategies and funnels. (and they have a point, that sh*t is important, but stay with me) Maybe you've spent hours and hours planning and mapping yours out. Then a client or two leaves and you panic and start posting 'DM me for coaching' even though you weren't planning on launching until next month. Next thing you know, the sales plan you spent so much time on ends up lost somewhere in your Google Drive. That's what I call losing...

(TW: miscarriage) I am not an anxious person, but when I got pregnant with baby L, my anxiety was sky-fucking-high. (I lost a pregnancy in 2024, and I was terrified I'd lose him, too) Most people in my immediate circle didn't really get it. They either didn't have kids, never lost a pregnancy, or thought they were being helpful by trying to make me think positively. I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously... So I searched Reddit, and found post after post, comment after comment, with so...
