doing the bare minimum

It's Sunday afternoon, and I'm recovering from the worst migraine I've ever had.

(if you suffer from migraines, holy f*ck I have so much empathy for you- that sh*t was worse than recovering from birth)

Normally, I would not be writing an email on Sunday.

I wouldn't even be opening my computer on Sunday.

But tomorrow our daycare is closed and I'm with my son all day, so I have to do the bare minimum I've committed to in my business today.

And getting out a Monday email sharing this week's Building a Coaching Business in Motherhood is part of that bare minimum.

Here's what you'll hear in this week's podcast episode with Angi Pilika, PT, online coach and mom of two:

  • why Angi felt like she had to pretend she was 'doing it all' with her first child, and how her body pushed back
  • how I almost burned out on my business, and what it taught me about the boundaries I need to be a mother + business owner
  • what Angi did differently between first and second maternity leaves
  • my advice for overcoming resistance to creating content when you're short on sleep, patience and energy
  • options for business structure and programs when you're aiming to cut down on working hours

I am honestly so sick of talking about baby sleep so we're not going to do that today ok? (but for the record, I'm exhausted) As silly as it sounds, what's saved me most in the last almost year of motherhood was shifting my mindset around sleep and exhaustion. I used to be very much an 'I need 8 hours of sleep or I am useless' type person. The mindset shift I started practicing as soon as our little dude was pulled into this world (I had a forceps birth) was... 'I can do things even when I'm...

Business coaches on IG will not shut up about sales plans, strategies and funnels. (and they have a point, that sh*t is important, but stay with me) Maybe you've spent hours and hours planning and mapping yours out. Then a client or two leaves and you panic and start posting 'DM me for coaching' even though you weren't planning on launching until next month. Next thing you know, the sales plan you spent so much time on ends up lost somewhere in your Google Drive. That's what I call losing...

(TW: miscarriage) I am not an anxious person, but when I got pregnant with baby L, my anxiety was sky-fucking-high. (I lost a pregnancy in 2024, and I was terrified I'd lose him, too) Most people in my immediate circle didn't really get it. They either didn't have kids, never lost a pregnancy, or thought they were being helpful by trying to make me think positively. I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously... So I searched Reddit, and found post after post, comment after comment, with so...
